DAV NABHA CELEBRATED HAWAN ON LOHRI
"India is known as a land of festivals and celebration, Lohri is one of them which is unique in its perception and significance."
Lohri is a popular mid winter Punjabi folk festival, celebrated on 13 January of every year. In the premises of DAV Centenary Public School, Nabha, a special programme was held on this auspicious occasion under the benevolent and vigilant guidance of our worthy Principal Dr. Meena Mehta. The event commenced with a sacred Vedic Five Kundiya Yagya performed by the worthy Principal alongwith all the teachers by maintaining the proper social distance. The students and their parents also joined and attended the havana and celebration virtually. The melodious recitation of Vedic Mantras and bhajans blessed everyone with an eternal joy and peace, followed by the lighting of bonfire as an invocation. The Principal alongwith the staff members, offered puffed rice, peanuts and popcorn to seek the blessings of the almighty. The mood was uplifted as the flames crackled to break the chill of dusk. Thus the day commemorated with immense joy, enthusiasm and magnificence. All the teachers danced to the foot tapping Punjabi music to the fullest. During online classes, the teachers explained to the children about the Lohri festival and enriched their knowledge.
In the end, the honourable Principal congratulated and blessed all the teachers and students on the auspicious occasion of Lohri and expressed her gratitude to the parents for sparing their precious time and showed their kind presence through virtual platform. She wished everyone warmth of joy, happiness and love to remain with all forever. She wished that the coming year would bring happiness in the lives of our adorable students, parents and teachers.
Overall, it was a fun filled day for everyone was overwhelmed and enjoyed.
