DIWALI CELEBRATION 2021

Diwali celebrations started from 25 October,2021 to 30 October,2021 in DAV Centenary Public School,Nabha junior wing under the leadership of our energetic and visionary Principal Dr. Meena Mehta that illuminated everyone’s heart with joy and fervor.Adding sanctity to the festivity,a special assembly was conducted on 25th and 26th October, 2021 by the students.The assembly started by reciting the Gayatri Mantra.After the spiritual prayer,the teachers made the students aware about the significance of the festival and the array of events that took place in the past on the same day. The students of different classes presented their views on the festival of lights. Card and poster making competition was conducted on 25th Oct. and the beautiful cards and posters were made by the students.On  26th October the displaying of the cards and posters made by the students in the assembly was done.The diyas not only make diwali, the festival of lights, but they also symbolize the supremacy and consequence of brightness over darkness . On the same day, Diya and candle decoration competition was held. These competitions were arranged to enhance the creative skills of the students. Calligraphy competition was also conducted on the same day in which the student cell beautifully write the text the winners of the competition were Mankirat Kaur of class 6th- B bagged first prizeMonika of class 6th- A got second,Manvir Singh of class 6th- ABoth 27th and 28th marked the celebration of eco-friendly diwali as the name indicates, environment friendly . During the Assembly ,students vowed to celebrate an eco-friendly festival of lights and urged others also to shun the usage of firecrackers by performing a wonderful act on' Let's Celebrate Green Diwali'. The students showcased their talents by sensitizing on the issue of air and noise pollution caused by the firecrackers that also affect the lives of animals, birds and other living beings on the earth. Students  also brought bottle planters with amazing shapes in which old bottles were used innovatively to plant a sapling. Students were also apprised to use the earthen pots instead of buying the Chinese lights from the market. On the last day, a colossal event was organised by the students from Class Nursery to 3rd based on Ramayana in which different episodes of Shri Rama's life were showcased that included Baal Kaand, Ayodhya Kaand, Aaranya Kaand, Kishkinda Kaand and finally Lanka Kaand  . The students dressed up in different characters from Ramayana added religious fervour to the atmosphere.Students also made attractive torans from leaves and beautifully crafted lanterns. Rangoli competition was conducted for students. The stunning designs of rangoli were alluring and fascinated the spectators. Colourful wall hangings prepared by the students were also one of the brilliant attractions of the competition.The Principal applauded the efforts of the children. She addressed the students that Ravana was a very knowledgeable person but his pride resulted in his fall and motivated the students to learn from him.She further added that a stone on which Rama is written never drowned,similarly the life of the human beings can be enlightened by chanting the name of Almighty,Rama.She also apprised everyone that planting trees is especially important to protect our environment against air pollution and global warming.She motivated the students to take care of their saplings that they have brought as it inculcates the value of caring, respecting the mother earth and responsibility among the students.
