DAV Centenary Public School, Nabha organised week-long celebration of 550th birth anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the first Guru of Sikhs with full devotion, reverence and enthusiasm under the kind and vigilant guidance of the school Principal Dr. Meena Mehta. On this auspicious occasion , in  special morning assembly, after the customary meditation, different  students from different classes of senior wing spread the divine message of harmony,humility, equality and oneness  through recitation of Mool Mantra,hymns,poems etc. Through speeches, students highlighted the significance of preaching of Guruji. The holy Japuji  Sahib and  Anand Sahib Path were recited by the staff and students of classes Vl to XIl to pay homage to Shri Guru Nanak Dev  ji.Jasleen Kaur of class VIII-B spelled the charm with the devotional song  'Thir kar vai so harjan pyare……..' in her melodious voice. Gurvir Kaur,Arshpreet Kaur and Ramanpreet Kaur of class VIII-B sang a hymn 'Satguru Nanak Pargat aa……….' which made the whole atmosphere divine and spiritual. Shabad kirtan was the highlight of the event.

In the Junior Wing, on 11th Nov., 2019, the 550th Guru Utsav was also celebrated with great respect and enthusiasm. On this auspicious occasion, Shabads were recited by the students and the teachers in the melodious voice which made the whole atmosphere divine and spiritual. This was followed by a mesmerizing performance of the Class 3rd students on the beautiful song ' Baba Majiyan charaunda……..'.

After the Shabad Gaan Gyani Rajiderpal Singh ji addressed the audience and recited the “Ardass”. The honourable  guests Mr. Vicky Modi(Music Director), Mr. Chamkaur SinghKhattra(Punjabi Singer), Mr.Kewal Singh( Sarpanch of Vill. Birdhano), Mr. Jagpreet Singh( Sarpanch of Shahpur) and Mr. Sawarn Singh(Sarpanch of Ramgarh) were honoured with sacred robs and mementos .

In the end, the Prasad was distributed among the students, parents and the teachers. Dr.Meena Mehta, Principal of the school congratulated all the teachers, parents and the students on Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Parkash Utsav. She said that God is one. He is present in our hearts. She inspired the students to follow the path shown by Guruji.
