DAV Centenary Public School, Nabha celebrated Teej festival with full fun and fervour on August 5,2019 and August 8,2019 in the senior wing of the school under the kind and vigilant guidance of the school Principal Dr.Meena Mehta.Inter house competitions among the four houses of the school were organised. Madam Neelam Verma,Punjabi teacher with her team of Punjabi teachers organised Mehandi competition, exhibition of items of Punjab culture and traditions,food stalls of different food items related to the festival and quiz competition on Punjab culture.. Students decorated tables with the food items like Kheer Pude, Jalebi etc. Ms Manju Verma,Ms Davinder Verma and Ms Meenu Khanna were the judges of the event.They visited all the food stalls and asked questions to the students about their dishes. Judges were impressed by the presentation of the food stalls and display of the items of Punjabi culture. In Mehandi competition,5 girls from each house applied beautiful designs of mehndi on the hands of 5 girls. Girls of class +2 from all streams came in colourful Punjabi attires. They were looking very beautiful. They took part in quiz competition related to Punjab culture and traditions.It consisted of five rounds.
Class wise students visited the exhibition and the food stalls. All students enjoyed the day. 
The results of the competitions were announced.

On this occasion, special assembly was conducted in the Junior wing in which the students from classes Nursery to 5th participated.They presented programmes with full fervour and zeal.The students delivered speeches and recited beautiful poems.Students also gave solo dance performances. They danced merrily to the tunes of the traditional Teej songs and enjoyed swings which were decorated with flowers. It was a day full of fun and frolic for the children. The traditional colourful costumes of the students added to the charm and mood of celebrations.
The Principal congratulated all the students and teachers on Teej festival. She appreciated students for their preparation and creativity. She encouraged all students to participate in such events alongwith their studies in future. She conveyed the message that the motto of organising cultural activities is to help students to relate and bond them with their culture.
