73^rd Independence Day

DAV Cent. Public School, Nabha celebrated 73rd Independence Day on Aug 14,2019 with full patriotic zeal and zest in the school premises under the vigilant guidance of the school Principal Dr. Meena Mehta . Special morning assembly was conducted. Students from different classes expressed their exuberance for freedom in the form of speeches, poems, patriotic songs etc. Music choir of the school sang patriotic songs like Aao hum sab milkar gaen..,Saga saga.. and Ek desh hai,ek vesh hai .. in its melodious voice.Divjot kaur of class 8^th -B shared her views on independence Day through a speech. Glimpses of Freedom Fighters by the students of class 8^th    were the main attraction of the audience. Gurvir of class 8^th-B enacted as Bharat Mata and shared her views about how she got freedom from the chains of British slavery and expressed her expectations from modern India. Students in the attire of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev  also performed and acknowledged us about their role in freedom struggle. Students in the attire of Britishers also performed their role in a very impressive way.Sneha from 8^th-B enacted as Rani Lakshmi Bai and recited the patriotic poem,”Khubh ladi mardani “. Some students delivered speeches on the holy festival of Raksha Bandhan .

Independence Day was also celebrated in Junior Wing with great enthusiasm .The ceremony started with the scintillating performance by the tiny tots. Patriotic poems and songs were recited by the students.Students also delivered speeches to acquaint everyone about the significance of Independence Day. In this atmosphere of patriotism, the students of class UKG recited Doha’s of Kabir. Plays on the sacrifices done by our great freedom fighters were also showcased. Then another magnificent performance was given by Class V on the song 'Hind ke Bahaduro' .Everyone was stunned by the choreography done by Class II students on the life of soldiers. At the same time students were asked different questions related to Independence Day and for every correct answer, they were given a reward.

Our worthy Principal Dr. Meena Mehta congratulated all the teachers and the students on Independence Day .She said that we should not forget the sacrifices of our great leaders that they made to free our motherland .

She encouraged all students to participate in such events alongwith their studies in future. She conveyed the message that the motto of organising cultural activities is to help students to relate and bond them with their culture.
